Location

Retreat is half an hour from Gunnedah in North West NSW. Gunnedah is a 45 minutes drive from Tamworth (the closest airport to Retreat). When coming to a retreat, make sure you have everything you need as the shops are not close by!

Accommodation

Retreats will be held at the property’s original farmhouse.

The Retreat Homestead is an old house (built sometime in the 1890’s). It has 5 bedrooms, 1 bathroom (three way design) and an additional outside toilet.

It is surrounded on 4 sides by gauzed and glass verandahs. There is a large kitchen and two separate living areas. The accommodation is basic but comfortable.

If you choose to stay onsite, you will not be expected to share a bedroom, but you will have to share a bathroom. Guests can also walk 200 metres to our house to shower if there is a queue!

The homestead is situated in a large established garden, with plenty of places to find a private shady corner to relax and enjoy the abundant birdlife and peaceful surroundings.

If you would prefer a little more privacy, there are good motels in Gunnedah, or you could choose to camp. Powered sites are available for vans.

There are three large bedrooms with queen size beds

Meals

Simple meals will be provided for the scheduled retreats. We have a wood-fired pizza oven that can be used weather permitting. We are willing to cater for gluten free, vegetarian and dairy free diets. Let us know any dietary needs before you come

Other Activities

Part of our vision for Retreat is providing a relaxing environment where guests can rest and appreciate God’s magnificent creation.

There are plenty of walks around the farm, as well as abundant birdlife, eggs to collect and cows to visit. If you come in the Spring, you may even get to see a brand new calf.

The pool is located at our house and is available for use in the warmer months.

We regularly cook damper and marshmallows over campfires and enjoy woodfired pizzas (probably too many!) when it’s safe to light fires outside.
